Malay Translation Services in Australia
We translate documents written in Malay (Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu) into English for visas, citizenship, Australian passports, licences, study and work. Every translation is done by a NAATI certified Malay translator and delivered as a certified PDF by email, with a printed copy by post if you need one. You can order from anywhere in Australia - all you need is a clear scan or photo of your document.
What makes a Malay translation official
A certified translation for use in Australia carries the translator's NAATI stamp and a certification statement declaring it a true and accurate translation of your document. The Department of Home Affairs asks for an English translation of any document that is not in English, and for translations made in Australia to be done by a NAATI accredited translator. Every name, date, number, stamp and handwritten note on your document is translated, so it can be checked line by line against your passport and other records.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a certified Malay translation cost?
A standard Malay document such as a birth certificate, MyKad or police certificate is $90 per page for email delivery, $80 per page if you can wait longer, or $120 per page urgent. A Malaysian driver licence is $75 ($70 non-urgent, $100 urgent). A printed copy by post can be added when you order. The price is shown before you pay.
How long does it take?
Most standard documents are delivered by email the next business day, and an urgent option is available when you order. Longer or more complex documents are quoted with their own delivery time.
What do I need to send?
A clear scan or photo of every page you need translated, including the back of a MyKad or licence. You can upload it with the form on this page, or take a photo with your phone.
Is the translation certified for use in Australia?
Yes. Each translation is done by a NAATI certified Malay translator and carries their NAATI stamp and a certification statement. The Department of Home Affairs asks for an English translation of any document that is not in English, and for translations made in Australia to be done by a NAATI accredited translator.
Can I use it to convert my Malaysian driver licence?
Each state sets its own rules. In NSW, Service NSW accepts translations only from Multicultural NSW or the Department of Home Affairs for licence applications, so there our translation suits car hire and visitors. Check your state's transport agency before you order for a licence conversion.
Do you post a hard copy?
Yes. Every translation is emailed as a PDF, and you can add a printed copy posted to an Australian address when you order.
